PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT STATEMENT
Current Goals and Objectives
This year, thanks to the support of faculty and fellow students, I have participated in many professional development activities. As co-lab manager for Research And Innovation in Learning (RAIL) lab, I have been able to participate in projects at every stage -- from attending initial brainstorming meetings, to writing proposals, obtaining funding, beginning a project, managing data collection and analysis, and creating evaluation reports. I continue to work on projects I started with in the master's program, such as the GSLEAD project and the STEM-Integrated Robotics program. I have also added new projects to the list. The biggest opportunity for me came with the NIH-funded grant for the development of a Career Navigation System, a project that is part of the Georgia CTSA's Translational Workforce Development team. I am the project manager for UGA's side of this grant, and I have been presented with many challenges and opportunities as a result. I am glad to get to collaborate and learn with faculty, staff, and students at UGA and Emory University as we engage in this highly dynamic and complex project.

My goals for the next year include,
-
Collaborate with other students and faculty on research and writing
-
Complete my conceptual framework and prepare it for submission to a top-tier journal
-
Write a piece for the history column in TechTrends (AECT)
-
Continue and look for new opportunities to engage in informal learning experiences
